York House Inn, Rabun Gap, Georgia, Teams with Tesla Motors – Tesla Destination Charging now offered as new free amenity for guests

York House Inn has teamed with Tesla Motors to provide an increasingly desirable amenity; Tesla Destination Charging. Tesla High Power Wall Connectors add 58 miles of range per hour to Model S, charging the vehicle overnight and replicating the convenience Tesla owners are accustomed to at home.

York House Inn is one of the few locations in North Georgia offering Tesla Destination Charging. Co-Owner Stan Penton said “York House Inn has been “defining the destination” for 120 years, and our  Historic Property offers cutting-edge Tesla Technology consistent with our other eco-conscious practices". Travelers plan greener trips by identifying environmentally-friendly accommodations. This is yet another in a long list of high-end amenities York House Inn offers our guests. “It is just amazing that we have served travelers, for 120 years, first by wagon when the Tallulah Falls Railroad first reached the area (it was a five hour ride then), then by train or car and now electric cars”.

York House Inn joins a rapidly growing network of resorts in Tesla Destination Charging, throughout the U.S. This new program offers High Power Connectors as an amenity for visitors, allowing them to charge their Tesla Model S at locations where they want to stay for several hours like hotels, ski resorts, and restaurants. Model S offers 270 miles of range on a single charge so we are within easy range of such vibrant locations as Atlanta, Georgia, Greenville, South Carolina and Asheville, North Carolina and beyond. With our Connectors one can easily top off the Tesla in just a few hours, giving Tesla drivers the freedom to charge almost anywhere they want to travel! York House Inn now offers two charging stations, the 80 Amp Tesla Wall Connector and a 40amp Universal Charging Station.  York House Inn guests receive complimentary charging and non-guests pay $10.00.

Co-Owner Christine Penton said “The decision to install Electric Vehicle Charging Stations was easy. Tesla has an ever expanding network and they really wanted to expand through major travel corridors like ours is. We are always looking for new ways to heighten the guests’ experience. By combining leading-edge technology and the forward-thinking of Tesla with our commitment to provide outstanding service and offerings, we now have the ability to offer guests a seamless and convenient charging experience during their stay.”

York House Inn and other Tesla Destination Charging locations are hosted on Tesla’s interactive webpage and will soon be GPS located on Model S’ navigation through a free software update sent wirelessly to the car. In coming months, Tesla owners will be able to use the Model S 17” touchscreen to easily plan trips and locate properties like York House Inn offering Tesla Destination Charging.  Visit www.teslamotors.com/findus for more information.
